Falafel

Some people make falafel at home, which in some other Arab countries is called by the name of Ta’meya and people eat it during the breakfast meal and sometimes at brunch.

Ingredients

Method

450g chickpeas

2 cups of roughly parsley

1 tsp salt

1 tsp cumin

1 tbsp coriander

1/2 tsp sodium bicarbonate

4 cloves garlic

vegetable oil

 

  1. Soak the chickpeas in water for 24 hours.

  2. Blend the chickpeas, onion, garlic and parsley in a food processor to a smooth paste.

  3. 3-Put the mixture in a deep bowl.

  4. Knead the ingredients together.
  5. Use a falafel mould to make the falafel.

  6. 6-Heat the oil over a medium heat.

  7. Deep fry until well browned.
